About
Elina’s professional background is in mental health nursing. She has worked with children, working-age adults and older adults across a range of mental health environments, supporting people whose needs may be straightforward, complex or changing.
This breadth of experience is particularly valuable within neurodevelopmental practice because autism does not exist in isolation. Children and young people may also experience anxiety, low mood, attention difficulties, eating or sleep concerns, sensory differences, safeguarding concerns or other emotional and behavioural needs.
Her clinical experience includes assessment, crisis management and care planning. These areas of practice require careful information gathering, clinical judgement, risk awareness and an ability to understand a person within the wider context of their family, education, health and everyday life.
Elina brings these skills into her work with neurodevelopmental presentations, where understanding the whole picture is an important part of a thoughtful assessment.
Publishing and Research
Elina also publishes books, research-informed resources and practical materials to support children and families. Her work brings together her experience in mental health, autism and ADHD with her interest in neuroscience and child development, making specialist knowledge accessible and useful in everyday life.
